Pedrógão Pequeno Schist Path I

 

The PR1 "Trilho dos Bufos" is a circular route that starts and ends at the Municipal Market of Pedrógão Pequeno.

This route will take you along a Roman road, where you can also see the magnificent granite cliffs of the Zêzere Valley and the round-winged eagle that frequently flies over this place.

The Ribeira dos Porteleiros, the place of Casal dos Bufos (which gives its name to this trail), the Cabril Dam (built on the Zêzere River and inaugurated on July 31, 1954), the Cabril quarry from which the stone was removed for the construction of the aforementioned dam and Monte da Senhora da Confiança are some of the places that you can see along the route.
